Roland Mehrez Beainy, owner of a chain of themed Donald Trump restaurants in Texas, faces deportation after being detained by U.S. immigration authorities. Beainy, a Lebanese citizen, entered the country as a non-immigrant visitor in 2019 and was supposed to leave the U.S. by February 2024. He attempted to obtain legal status through marriage, but there is no evidence that he ever lived with his wife.
Beainy was arrested by ICE in May, five years after the opening of the first Trump Burger restaurant. He claims the charges are false and is scheduled for a hearing in immigration court in November. His restaurant chain has garnered national attention due to its pro-Trump theme and has expanded to multiple locations in Texas, including Houston.
In the meantime, Beainy also faces other legal troubles. He filed a lawsuit against the landlord of a Trump Burger location in Kemah, Texas, accusing him of wrongful eviction. The landlord countered with his own lawsuit, renaming the location „Maga Burger.”
Trump Burger gained popularity despite facing initial threats, and business profits have been directed toward pro-Trump fundraising campaigns. Beainy has expressed his desire for Trump to visit one of his restaurants.
